Our Sally
In 2017 at the age of 10 years old, Sally was diagnosed with Ewings Sarcoma, a children’s bone cancer. She had a 5x5cm tumour on her rib!
Following a year of intensive chemotherapy, major surgery & radiotherapy, Sally rang the “End of Treatment Bell” & was cancer free!
Unfortunately, a year later Sally relapsed with a tumour in her neck on her C2 vertebrae. She endured more treatment & in July 2020 it looked as though she had beaten cancer again.
However, only three months later, Sally had pain in numerous places & a full body scan confirmed her pain was due to more tumours.
Sally deteriorated quickly & was soon confined to a wheelchair & in constant pain. By Christmas Eve 2020, her pain became so unbearable, she was taken by ambulance into Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital. We took Christmas to Manchester & gave Sally the best Christmas we could. She also celebrated her 14th birthday in January 2021 in hospital.
Three weeks later, on her mum’s birthday, 9th February 2021, the angels asked Sally if she was ready to dance again & of course Sally said yes! She has left a huge hole in our lives that will never be filled & we can’t put into words how much we miss her, especially that SMILE!
